Qiantang Realm [Yu · Shang] Club

This club in Hangzhou is inspired by the city's deep connection with water. It incorporates elements of local architecture, scenic landscapes, and poetic traditions into the design. The space embodies a philosophy of retreat and cultural refinement, blending classical elegance with contemporary design. It reflects the city's soul, creating a tranquil and contemplative atmosphere where one can quietly savor life's essence.



The wave-shaped chandelier in the main lounge, along with metal ripple panels, reflects the calm and flowing nature of water. Its soft, warm, moonlight-like glow creates a poetic and serene ambiance in the room.



The designer uses sofas, screens, and wine cabinets to create a dynamic spatial composition in the horizontal plane. The textured leather sofas are placed next to shimmering platinum crystal panels on the walls, while a circular ceiling overhead adds movement and depth. These elements come together to create a tactile and immersive environment that feels both organic and harmonious.



The round dining table carries on the water theme with its fluid and non-hierarchical form, infusing the space with a sense of liveliness and flexibility. This creates a dining area where practicality and artistry blend together seamlessly, fostering an intimate yet dynamic atmosphere.



In the bar area, the combination of crystal and metal materials represents a harmonious cultural blend, where different textures come together to create a lively and dynamic space. The extensive use of soft warm lighting enhances this energy, casting a gentle glow that resembles the shimmer of water under a soft breeze.



The club has carefully chosen plants, ornaments, and decorations that reflect the Eastern Zen traditions of Hangzhou's ancient temples and academies. By combining these natural elements with skillful craftsmanship, the design creates a tranquil environment for enjoying tea and relaxation. The use of natural materials and textures in the space captures the graceful essence of traditional study rooms, providing a peaceful escape from the demands of modern life.
