QUIVO is a contemporary restaurant and bar that embodies an al fresco experience accompanied by the rich Mediterranean flavours and atmosphere. The design drew on the restaurant's journey - an informal yet sophisticated ambience with a welcoming atmosphere, a dining setting which speaks of a perfectly balanced environment for both work and leisure. Sited along Pavilion Kuala Lumpur's The Connection', the restaurant occupies a narrow oblong space of 130sqm with access to natural skylight, Swofinty designed around these advantages by maximizing QUIVO's exposure hereafter allowing for shifting light quantities throughout the day and night.
Arriving guests are greeted with sensual arc-waves of bright red steel plane avant-garde curved steel panel resting atop of charcoal grey bent steel and glass panels glazed in art deco inspired steel canvas. The dining hall, covered in the colours of Tuscan romancing the bright textured planes expressed in the form of organic curves in relation to geometric forms, creating symmetry and balance to the elegant design. Complementing the vibrant contemporary Mediterranean dining flavours, the design concept approach is further inspired by the eclectic industrial revolution of art deco movement. The walls covered in bold glazed red tones with the base given a brass finish across the restaurant.
By the diner, a radiating red stainless steel oven positioned behind a teal and brass counter with white marble top reveals an open pizza cookery alongside a semi open kitchen niche on a tarnished wall. Bespoke modern sculptured pendant lights plays on verticality, lightness with bronze accents creating a sense of rhythm.
The bar is seen resting among vibrant cluster of sensual light, symmetrical patterns and sculpture. Silver tiled ceiling anchoring brass accented liqueur displays and pendant; beneath, Arabescato marble bar with fascia in alluring barrels of illuminated brass. A large sculptural stained glass brimming in abstracts of nature with colours resembling paintings of the late Piet Mondrian. Shades of red, blue and brass along with grey and white terrazzo floor journeys through the interior establish an astounding set of characteristics, leaving eyes restless from anticipation of every corner.
