During the construction of the Multidimensional Greenway (Phase I Demonstration Section) of Shanghai West Bund Nature Art Park, in order to achieve a major east-west connection within the park, the team, after careful deliberation, proposed focusing on connectivity and disappearance to enable the design of the "Floating Brocade" to realize its flowing value in space. Through an analysis of the current status and future planning of the surrounding areas, the project introduced pedestrian flows from subway stations, industrial parks, and commercial districts into the park, closely connecting different areas within the city and breaking down existing spatial barriers. By stitching together the green space system fragmented by municipal roads, viaducts, and forest belts, a pedestrian-friendly urban promenade system was established to better provide walking, sightseeing, and exercise experiences for nearby residents and tourists. This stitching effect not only made the urban space more continuous and unified but also promoted communication and integration between different regions.
