STAX is a transformable furniture set that is aimed to provide convenience and hospitality for users living in a crowded apartment or dormatory. The set can easily be transformed between an arm chair, two stools when a friend comes over, or a stack of stools to save space. In order to maximize convenience for students, the design of STAX utilizes a quick assembly method that joins wooden pieces together without the requirement of glue or nails. All parts simply slide into each other. In order to minimize manufacturing and packaging cost for students, all parts of STAX are designed to be cut out from a single 32 X 64in wood board. Dormatories are generally not the most spacious place to live in. Being the home of students, the dorm is a crucial spot where friends could gather. Unfortunately, most schools provide their students with only a single chair, which is unconvenient when hosting gusts. Guests could choose to sit on the floor but having a small transformable living room could be much more confortable, convenient, and hygenic.
