This project is a four-story, 478-square-meter commercial space, designed as an art sanctuary to support orphaned children in Nepal. After two years of planning and supervision, the building emerges as a peaceful haven, blending natural elements like lush greenery cascading from each balcony, small streams, and surrounding vegetation, allowing it to stand as a serene retreat within the bustling city.
The first-floor lobby features red and white clay walls, enhanced with soundproofing materials. The texture creates a unique rhythm, mirroring the viewer’s breath—like a "museum of listening." In the "Sun Room" and "Moon Room," visitors can lie barefoot on wooden floors, surrounded by the resonant sounds of singing bowls. Light installations symbolizing the sun and moon on the ceiling reflect the trees outside, embodying peace and inner clarity.
On the second floor, unembellished natural walls and thick clay textures continue the theme, softening the boundary between the tangible and intangible. Here, a spherical gray clay display area houses artworks, with carbonized wooden stands blending into the clay walls. Sunlight filters through small openings, creating a feeling of hidden clarity.
The third and fourth floors, designed as temporary resting places for travelers, feature carbonized plywood with natural wood grain, large sliding doors, and full-wall cabinets with Japanese tatami flooring. These elements emphasize simplicity, transparency, and a pure space where residents can find a tranquil refuge.
