The Semir Wenzhou Wuma Street Flagship Store, located in the historic Wuma Street district, is a collaboration between Semir and Yees Design, a firm renowned for extensive international retail design expertise. By redefining spatial language and brand storytelling, the store’s distinctive design marks a significant milestone in the brand’s evolution and a bold exploration of future retail spaces, honoring history while looking toward the future.
As a heritage building, the store’s exterior blends history with modernity. The original architectural features are preserved, with contemporary breathing lights integrated into each window, bringing new life to the historic structure. The four large windows, resembling giant spools, capture the attention of passersby, guiding them into a space where modernity and history intertwine.
Upon entering, the layered green coil installations bring a sense of freshness, immediately conveying the brand's vibrant green ethos. The optimized flow of the space, with three open entrances, enhances customer movement. The horizontal and vertical display fixtures at the entrance showcase high-demand products, while the combination of model displays and back walls creates a narrative flow, strengthening emotional engagement with customers.
The open space across three floors centers around spool installations, with flowing lighting effects highlighting product displays on mannequins. The mirrored stainless steel beams and column decorations minimize visual bulk, creating a lighter and more expansive space while emphasizing the installation's dynamic presence.
The open corridor enhances transparency and depth, while the clever integration of escalators and stairs optimizes the flow of visitors and strengthens brand recognition. The rotating clothing display offers styling suggestions, and the lounge area caters to relaxation needs. Green "forest" experience zone adds an outdoor feel, fostering a sense of community, while the “Smart Living” area showcases high-quality, cost-effective products.
The children's area, adjacent to the women's section, is safely tucked in an inset space with interactive toys, creating a warm and playful shopping environment for families.
Overall, the design transforms everyday yarn elements into captivating art installations, offering an immersive, interactive retail experience that redefines Semir’s brand image and enhances the shopping experience.
