The advertisement scene design for Pepsi Tai Chi Series embodies a harmonious blend of Chinese aesthetics and modern advertising, aiming to infuse this international brand with a unique Eastern allure.
Inspired by the rich tradition of crosstalk—a form of Chinese comedic dialogue—the advertisement unfolds a narrative deeply rooted in Chinese culture. The setting is transformed into an idyllic space, inspired by the timeless beauty of traditional Chinese gardens, particularly the renowned landscape architecture in classical Suzhou gardens. Here, traditional Chinese culture meets modern aesthetics. At the center of the scene stands a quintessentially traditional Chinese house with upturned eaves, complemented by iconic Chinese architectural elements like wooden lattice windows and a circular window frame. These elements create an atmosphere of classic simplicity and refined grace. Surrounding the house, bamboo and rocks are artfully arranged to evoke a natural tranquility, reflecting the core philosophy of Chinese garden design—the pursuit of natural beauty.
The scene design employs a flat visual style, ensuring a smooth transition between the real-world setting and the animated video. Moreover, the color palette—dominated by highly recognizable Pepsi blue and enriched with accents of yellow and green—creates a visual experience that is calm, gentle, and captivating, reminiscent of the misty, ethereal ambiance of a landscape garden.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this project champions sustainability. By using renewable and eco-friendly materials like bamboo and wood, it significantly reduces reliance on disposable props, thereby minimizing environmental impact. The project also introduces a sharing system for prop libraries and sets, cutting down on resource consumption and construction waste while enhancing setup efficiency and economic benefits. Through these environmentally conscious practices, this project sets a compelling example for the industry, demonstrating how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into creative work. On a broader ideological level, it promotes the incorporation of environmental values into film production. This approach goes beyond mere product promotion to offer educational value, delivering a powerful message about the importance of sustainable development.
