Fengyuan, located in central Taiwan, is a city rich in history and cultural heritage. Embracing the concept of “harmonizing the old and the new,” our design seamlessly integrates contemporary innovation with the city’s deep-rooted traditions. Fengyuan has long been a hub of cultural and social connection, where early communities emphasized strong neighborhood bonds and a spirit of mutual care. Inspired by this legacy, our design prioritizes the creation of communal spaces, fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere that encourages interaction and togetherness. Through these shared spaces, we aim to revive Fengyuan’s distinctive sense of community while adapting it to modern living.

The building’s amenities are designed not only to meet contemporary lifestyle needs but also to embody the essence of “Innovation vs. Nostalgia,” creating a seamless dialogue between history and modernity. Traditional craftsmanship has played a significant role in Fengyuan’s cultural identity, particularly in wood carving and ceramic artistry. These crafts, symbols of the region’s rich heritage and skilled artisanship, have been thoughtfully integrated into the design. From decorative facades to spatial compositions, every detail reflects the interplay between time-honored techniques and contemporary aesthetics. This meticulous craftsmanship enhances the architectural character while immersing residents in the cultural depth of their surroundings.

Guided by the concept of a “time capsule,” this project connects Fengyuan’s past and future, offering a living experience that is both forward-thinking and deeply rooted in history. Our goal is to create a design that not only preserves Fengyuan’s cultural memory but also enhances the everyday lives of its residents with modern convenience and innovation. More than just a residence, this project serves as a tribute to the city’s enduring legacy, allowing a new generation to experience and engage with Fengyuan’s historical and cultural essence in a meaningful way.
