The 2025 Zhubei Light Festival takes place during the Lantern Festival at Shuizhen Forest Park in Zhubei City, Taiwan. This year’s theme, "Waterborne Blossoms," symbolizes the vitality and aesthetics born from the interplay of water and light. By integrating technology, art, and urban landscapes, the park transforms into six illuminated zones, presenting a mesmerizing spectacle of light and shadow.

Unlike traditional lantern festivals, this edition invites six artistic teams to create luminous installations that merge art with technology, crafting a multi-sensory experience that engages sight, sound, smell, and touch. The lush greenery and waterways of the park, enhanced by radiant lighting, become a dreamlike, enchanting space, drawing in both residents and visitors for a unique exploration.

The main installation, "Loop Loop," stands at 5.5 meters tall, featuring a Möbius strip as its core imagery, accompanied by an immersive light and sound performance that symbolizes the convergence of life, nature, and time. Other highlights include "Signal," a kinetic sculpture that fuses sound with mechanical movement; "Recurrent Pulse," an interactive light installation that translates audience conversations into dynamic visual rhythms; and "Ocean’s Embrace, Heart’s Ascent," which transforms tidal and planetary movements into shifting waves of light.

Additionally, two outstanding open-call artworks celebrate Zhubei’s local identity. "Flowing with Gentle Resolve" utilizes the delicate textures of leaves and vegetable foliage to create an energetic, woven structure, paying tribute to Zhubei’s transformation from an agricultural heartland to a thriving tech hub. "Half Half" provides a serene gathering space where visitors pause, connect, and observe nature, with light and shadows dancing fluidly in the breeze, evoking a tranquil and poetic atmosphere.

As an open-air exhibition, the festival allows visitors to wander freely and explore the illuminated zones at their own pace, fully immersing themselves in this radiant fusion of water and light.
