Co-Orb is an innovative IoT device designed to foster gratitude in remote workplaces by transforming digital appreciation into tangible experiences. With 22 million Americans working entirely remotely and 28% of the global workforce operating remotely, expressing sincere gratitude between colleagues has become challenging without face-to-face interactions.

When a colleague sends an appreciation message through workplace platforms like Slack, the recipient's desktop orb illuminates with a customized emoji and the sender's name. Upon touching the orb, the message is read aloud, simulating the warmth of in-person gratitude.

Co-Orb makes expressing and receiving appreciation more emotionally resonant while adhering to calm technology principles that minimize workplace disruption. The design includes features for collecting and revisiting gratitude messages, creating a lasting record of workplace appreciation that strengthens team relationships in distributed teams.
