Located in the key area of Chenghua Temple in the old town of Altai, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the site is an important block with historical memory and bearing the carrier of urban origin. The overall trend of height difference is higher in the northeast and lower in the southwest. The unique cultural characteristics of Altai region are perfectly integrated into the hotel design, respecting the primitive rock art and making full use of natural materials to create the world's first special hot spring resort with the theme of rock paintings.

The overall building facade adopts the three-stage structural design and the base material is mainly ashlar, the local unique ashlar is used to build the exterior surface and are stacked according to local stacking methods, forming a stable building base. The middle part with Hemu style is decorated with imitation red pine wood grain aluminum plate to restore the architectural style of Hemu Village and reflect the local architectural features. The upper end features a Hemu architectural roof form and incorporates Velux skylights to preserve character and make full use of the pitched roof space. In the early stage of design, we consider the design scheme of the facade lighting and reserve the location of the light for hidden installation, so as to achieve the effect of seeing the light but not the fixture.

Altay features unique cultural attributes, mainly involving Hemu style, cliff painting, natural radon water, etc. Elements such as Hemu style and cliff painting are not just symbols, they can be understood as cultural deposits. In hotel design, the integration of various spatial scales with Hemu style and cliff painting is extremely important. The project extracts the unique cultural characteristics of Altay region and perfectly integrates them into the hotel design, highlighting the respect for and full use of local cultural features.
