Path of the Fearless, Kasugagu 500 Years.

This is an ancient trail that spans across the eastern and western parts of Taiwan, with a history of nearly 500 years. We call it the "Path of the Fearless." The trail stretches 47 kilometers and has had different names and purposes over the years. Initially, it served as a passage connecting the Paiwan and Puyuma tribes from the west to the east coast. As time progressed, during the Age of Exploration, it became a dream path for the Dutch. In the Qing Dynasty, it became an important route for official patrols, and during the Japanese rule, it served as a path for governing indigenous peoples. Today, it is famous for its tropical mist forests, becoming a corridor for natural ecology.

This ancient trail has witnessed countless travelers throughout history, who came for various purposes such as gold hunting, tribute collection, missionary work, trade, and immigration. Each traveler had their dreams. The Paiwan people have guarded this land for generations, and tribes like Lalekeleke, Kinayiman, and Tjuvecekadan have become witnesses to the trail's history. Their footprints and life stories have woven a rich cultural heritage along the path. It is a "road of the brave," full of challenges and opportunities, where only the fearless can reach the end of their dreams.
