In the heart of Shenzhen’s fast-paced urban life, LONG JING offers more than a spa experience—it’s a sanctuary built on the ideals of “being seen” and “unconditional acceptance,” inspired by the Horlock Effect. The design aims to create not just beauty, but a deeply immersive space for introspection, escape, and renewal.
Guided by the principle of "following nature’s way," the space embraces natural materials and organic forms. A warm, earthy palette anchors the design, enriched by bamboo weaves, soft fabrics, shell textures, and varied wood grains, creating a comforting, refined atmosphere.
From the moment guests enter, they’re drawn into a sensory journey. The reception features mirrored reflections, a jade counter inlaid with natural elements, and sculptural displays of shells and candles—an overture to tranquility. Light filters through wooden louvers, casting shifting patterns that invite contemplation.
The yoga and meditation room continues this narrative. Billowing ceiling drapes suggest clouds, while lush plants blur the line between indoors and out, forming a serene cocoon for stillness and mindful practice. Private treatment rooms extend this intimacy, with layered textures and subdued lighting ensuring complete physical and mental release. Even the corridors are thoughtfully crafted as calming transitions, preparing the senses for healing.
LONG JING is a celebration of human-centered design. Natural soundscapes, the gentle scent of lemongrass, and a pervasive stillness guide each visitor toward self-discovery. It’s an intentional refuge from the noise of the city—an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the self. This project is our quiet declaration: a “yes” to authenticity and a deliberate turning away from the ordinary.
