ISLYZEN is a cultural and eco-conscious T-shirt design series inspired by Hainan, China’s southernmost tropical island. The collection brings together traditional art, endangered wildlife, and modern expression to tell stories of harmony between people and nature.
The three featured patterns—Divine Bird, Gibbon, and Tropical Fish—reflect Hainan’s unique island spirit. The Divine Bird draws from Li brocade, a traditional textile craft recognized by UNESCO, symbolizing protection and natural balance. The Gibbon, a rare rainforest primate, is expressed through calligraphy and digital lines, reminding us to protect fragile ecosystems—while imagining how technology and tradition can coexist. The Tropical Fish, drawn with soft colored pencil strokes, captures the innocent love humans have for the sea.
United under the theme Island Zen (ISLYZEN), the designs mix paper-cut art, Chinese ink painting, and geometric balance to create bold, wearable graphics that merge ancient wisdom with contemporary style. Each piece is not just a shirt, but a visual story that invites reflection on culture, nature, and sustainability.
Through this collection, we hope to reconnect people—especially travelers and the younger generation—with the beauty of tradition and the urgency of ecological awareness, in a way that is engaging, stylish, and meaningful.
