CSCEC Oriental Tourmaline

Located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, the project is designed based on the thousand-year cultural context of Jinling (the historical name of Nanjing) and the elegant aesthetics of the Song Dynasty. It draws inspiration from the ancient Song Dynasty painting The Gathering at the Western Garden, integrating the elegant artistic conception of the Song Dynasty with modern residential life. Traditional cultural elements such as the auspicious mythical creature "Gongfu" (a legendary dragon-like beast in Chinese mythology) and the Yin-Yang and Eight Trigrams are incorporated, along with innovative interpretations of intangible cultural heritage techniques, to create a naturally flowing space filled with the artistic conception of mountains and waters.
Meanwhile, the design sorts out and restores the riparian ecology around the site, promotes ecological infiltration between residential spaces and natural spaces, and realizes the dual values of cultural inheritance and ecological coexistence. It aims to build a modern ideal dwelling that features "urban sharing, integration of residence and garden, and unity of living and traveling".
