The design of the store centers on the core concept of balancing tradition and modernity, ingeniously fusing the calming power of Japanese ukiyo-e with the futuristic edge of cyber-metal, creating an immersive space that combines culture depth and contemporary style.
The design draws inspiration from the masterpieces of Japanese ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai, Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji. The landscapes of mountains and seas in the painting give the space the soul. Using Prussian blue as the foundational tone for the sky and water, it forms a striking backdrop that blends historical depth with visual impact. Meanwhile, it seamlessly integrates Hajime Sorayama’s futuristic sci-fi aesthetic. Through the interplay of light, shadow, precise reflections, and transparent panels, it enhances the richness of metallic textures and injects a sharp, forward-looking edge into the traditional art. EVISU innovatively fuses historical essence with futuristic visions to craft an unprecedented brand narrative. The interior design stays true to EVISU’s core identity: stainless steel structures are used throughout the space, interacting with various textured metals to create forward-looking contemporary spatial language. Iconic skateboard elements are thoughtfully deconstructed and woven into the design, subtly conveying the free spirit of street culture and an avant-garde artistic vibe, redefining the boundaries of modern style. The store’s innovative spatial design goes far beyond visuals. The front cashier area features a multifunctional bar that, through its modular design, enables effortless switching between daytime service (Japanese light meals and beverages) and nighttime service (themed cocktail bar). Seating areas use extensive glass panels and flexible boundary marks to blur the line between indoors and outdoors. Thoughtfully placed “Pop-Up” visual elements—like vintage advertising installations or classic denim art walls—act as cultural anchors in partially hidden corners to spark curiosity and encourage guests to linger. Through these innovations, the brand’s spirit is brought to life through an engaging, immersive spatial narrative.
