The Chinese Civilization Exploration Museum is rooted in China's ancient traditional culture and classical art, focusing on integrating educational content related to primary and secondary school Chinese language, art, and history courses, as well as university humanities disciplines. Therefore, the initial concept of the spatial design was to incorporate Chinese culture into the space in a more modern, diverse, and light-hearted manner, making cultural history readable, touchable, and perceptible, and creating a composite cultural space that combines educational functionality with aesthetic expression.
The design team broke away from the traditional heavy and retro tone of cultural exhibition spaces. While maintaining a consistent overall color scheme, they selected orange, red, and blue to highlight the space, effectively showcasing the cultural characteristics of each period, naturally guiding the flow of visitors, and adding vitality to the space, perfectly aligning with the museum's theme of exploration.
The Chinese Civilization Exploration Museum is not only a groundbreaking attempt at business model innovation for Grandview Mall, but also a key strategic move to break free from traditional commercial logic and capture the ‘cultural consumption mindset’It holds significant implications for redefining the concept of urban complexes. Unlike other similar projects that adopt a rote learning and one-way knowledge dissemination model, the Chinese Civilization Exploration Museum focuses on the theme of exploration, encouraging self-directed exploration driven by curiosity. It integrates the philosophy of‘education through exhibition and exhibition through fun’, encouraging young people to learn while playing and play while learning. The design team employs immersive experiences, interactive installations, and multi-dimensional knowledge scenarios to stimulate teenagers' proactive learning and deep understanding of textbook knowledge, thereby inheriting cultural genes. It guides teenagers to explore and reflect on what does humanistic spirit consist of, enabling them to connect with their past and future, discover their true selves, and establish emotional connections between the individual and society, history, and the world.
