Ruiyuan Mingjiahefu Mansion, Qingdao

The project is located in Huangdao District, Qingdao, where the golden sands of Tangdao Bay meet the verdant slopes of Lianhua Mountain Park, offering a rare convergence of mountains and sea. It redefines the symbiosis between community, city, and nature.
Breaking from the original site pattern, the design creates a 200-metre central promenade linking to Lianhua Mountain. Shaped by the natural terrain into a “canyon” form, it delivers a multi-layered three-dimensional landscape that dissolves boundaries between the urban realm and nature, drawing sea breezes, mountain views, and lush greenery into the community.
Design & materials: Rooted in a modern resort aesthetic, the scheme uses a caramel-brown palette for warmth and luxury, with black-and-white marble-faced granite paving and Jazz White matte marble façades.
Key innovation: Leveraging dramatic elevation changes, the plan seamlessly unites mountain and sea landscapes while embedding a vibrant commercial district within the park. The sunken “Slow-Enjoyment Flower Street” integrates commerce, leisure, and scenic strolling, becoming a catalyst for community vitality.
Ecology & sustainability: Following “natural integration” and “low-density ecology”, the design establishes continuous visual and ecological links between mountains, sea, and gardens. An ecological water cycle channels spring water from Lianhua Mountain through cascading terraces for natural purification before returning it—clear and dynamic—to the sea, echoing nature’s own renewal process.
