The Jinyang Bridge is situated in Guangzhou's Financial City, surrounded by a modern urban landscape. At the intersection of two diagonal roads, it connects to elevated walkways, forming part of the city's aerial pedestrian system. The design takes advantage of the bridge's diagonal layout, incorporating a subtle twist that creates a center-symmetric S-shaped configuration. Inspired by "the wings of a bird," the undulating façade and lightweight exterior convey a sense of soaring, providing a modern urban crossing experience for citizens.
The bridge is 55 meters long, with a maximum width of 6.8 meters and a minimum width of 5.0 meters, constructed from a steel box beam structure. Precise design keeps its thickness to just 0.6 meters, resulting in a slender profile. The twist in the bridge aligns it perpendicularly to the road, enhancing visual comfort and structural stability. The façade features a perforated aluminum curtain wall with a gradient texture, creating a dynamic visual experience through smooth curves. Hidden within the curtain wall are soft night lights that filter through the perforations, minimizing light pollution while maintaining a friendly environment for pedestrians and vehicles. Human-centered design elements include widened sections on both sides of the S-shape, where the façade rolls over to form a sunshade and rain canopy, complemented by curved benches below for comfortable viewing and resting. Particularly at night, with changing light backgrounds, these benches become popular spots for visitors. Flower beds on either side, planted with local Lingnan flora, highlight the city's floral identity. The Jinyang Bridge is more than just a functional connection; it is a landscape and art bridge, offering a fresh perspective and serving as a scenic overlook for the International Financial City.
