Conceived as a politically, culturally, and socially resonant space, the The Jiangsu Model Workers and Craftsmen Exhibition Hall presents a fully immersive, interactive, and digitally enhanced environment, showcasing the achievements of model workers, leading industry figures, and exemplary craftsmen across Jiangsu’s industrial and cultural history.

Therefore, the design concept revolves around “Inheriting Craftsmanship, Promoting Contemporary Values, Highlighting Jiangsu Identity.” Spatial and narrative strategies are structured to communicate three core dimensions: ideological guidance, technological innovation, and human-centered storytelling. The layout is organized into five thematic zones: the Orientation Hall (political leadership), Labor Movement History, Industrial Achievements, Model Workers and Craftsmen, and the Concluding Hall (spiritual inspiration). Each zone is carefully sequenced to provide a coherent journey through time, highlighting historical context, personal contributions, and technological milestones.

Design elements integrate symbolic, regional, and craftsmanship motifs. Abstract hands represent skill, perseverance, and labor as a creative force. Gears and wheat signify the harmony of industry and agriculture, while structural “spines” and bridges convey strength and continuity. Regional characteristics—flowing water, Jiangnan architecture silhouettes, moon gates, and garden-inspired window patterns—anchor the space in Jiangsu’s cultural and geographical context. Craftsmanship is further expressed through the evolution of tools, from traditional hand instruments to precision modern devices, and through iconic products and achievements visualized via models, enlarged components, and data-driven displays.

Modern exhibition technologies amplify narrative impact. Immersive scenography, VR/AR experiences, interactive digital tables, and multimedia installations allow visitors to engage with labor history and innovation processes. Materials are carefully selected to reflect symbolic meaning, craftsmanship, and sustainability: raw and polished textures contrast to evoke labor and precision, while reused industrial artifacts and traceable wear patterns communicate authenticity. Lighting and finishes enhance the atmosphere, guiding visitors through reflective, inspiring, and educational experiences.

Sustainability underpins the pavilion’s design. Durable, locally sourced, and recyclable materials minimize environmental impact, while energy-efficient systems, optimized lighting, and digital controls ensure operational and ecological efficiency.

The pavilion embodies a holistic approach, merging tradition with modernity, narrative with technology, and cultural identity with environmental responsibility. It stands as a landmark for Jiangsu’s labor heritage, inspiring future generations to embrace diligence, innovation, and excellence.
