Shou Lian Zhao Yue

“Shou Lian Zhao Yue” is conceived as a cultural and spiritual landmark at the heart of Guotan Smart Wine Valley, a region renowned for its rich liquor heritage. Nestled between rolling hills and calm waters, the project draws upon Eastern symbolism, using the lotus and moon as core motifs to express purity, longevity, and harmony, while harmonizing with the valley’s ecological and cultural context. The installation transforms the lakeside into a contemplative waterfront space where visitors experience both visual delight and cultural resonance.
The design is rooted in the Eastern philosophy of “Following the Way of Nature”, integrating natural and human-made elements in a seamless dialogue. Inspired by classical Chinese garden techniques—borrowed scenery, framed views, and spatial sequencing—the layout choreographs the interplay of water, lotus forms, and moonlight throughout day and night. Daytime visitors enjoy reflective lake vistas and sculptural shadows, while evening lighting evokes a poetic moonlit ambiance, responding dynamically to seasonal changes in the valley.
Structurally, the sculpture features a stainless steel core framed with aluminum alloy and fiberglass, ensuring both strength and fluidity of form. The precision-engineered curved surfaces were fabricated using 3D CNC technology and modular assembly, allowing exacting installation at the lake’s center. Embedded LED lighting with adjustable color temperatures creates layered light and shadow effects, enhancing the sense of depth and emphasizing the lotus-moon motif. The sculpture’s placement carefully aligns with the lake’s surface to produce the “double moon” reflection, amplifying its symbolic resonance.
Material selection balances durability, sustainability, and aesthetic expression. Marine-grade stainless steel and multilayer protective coatings safeguard against high humidity, while eco-friendly paints, recyclable composites, and lightweight materials reduce environmental impact. Lighting and structural components are integrated for easy maintenance and long-term adaptability.
