Tucked away in the wooded hills of Miyun, just beyond the quiet curve of Reservoir Road, this interior retreat was conceived as a reflection of northern Beijing’s understated beauty. It captures the soul of the capital’s mountainous outskirts while embracing a modern design language that is calm, deliberate, and deeply sensory, a space where guests can retreat from the rush of the city and return to a slower rhythm of living.
Stillness • Flow
The guiding principle behind the interior concept is present in every element. The design dissolves functional boundaries, allowing each space to transform with ease. The interiors flow gently from one mood to another, shaped by natural textures, handcrafted objects, and a quiet palette of earthen tones. Daylight filters through layered wood and soft linen, creating shifting atmospheres of warmth and reflection.
Classical Chinese Zen Aesthetic
Inspired by the tranquil forests and quiet peaks of Miyun, the design language draws from both the terrain and the spirit of the place. Traditional materials black-stained timber, river stone, ceramic, and brushed brass ground the interiors in a tactile, almost ancient familiarity. Every space opens gently toward the landscape beyond, framing polar trees, distant mountains, or shafts of morning light. The result is a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior, between crafted form and natural flow.
The experience is one of quiet transformation. A space where each object is intentional, each corner curated not for display but for use for presence. Whether gathered around for a tea ceremony, enjoying an intimate meal, or simply sitting in silence, guests are invited to rediscover a sense of grounding one rooted not only in design, but in the land and culture of northern Beijing itself.
