YOUNG URBAN

Nestled in Fengdong New City, Xi'an, this project stands in close proximity to the Epang Palace Archaeological Ruins Park. The sales center and demonstration area are designed as an integrated entity, with Ode to the Epang Palace as its cultural core. It extracts classic imagery such as "intricate interlocking of roof structures", "eaves curving upward like beaks", and "overhead corridors spanning the sky" from the ode, reconstructing Eastern aesthetics within a modern architectural framework to achieve in-depth dialogue between traditional cultural context and contemporary life.
The building features a three-level progressive volume, with each floor equipped with a large-scale terrace. Vertical connection between the terraces is formed through double-height spaces— the upper terrace is cantilevered above the lower one by virtue of modern structural technology. The unobstructed views and staggered layout simulate the spatial artistic conception of "overhead corridors spanning the sky, resembling rainbows even without post-rain sunshine" (a reference to Ode to the Epang Palace). This design not only inherits the layered rhythm of classical architecture but also enhances spatial fluidity through lightweight design, allowing visitors to experience the translation of time and space as they move through the space.
The core inner courtyard echoes the prosperous scene depicted in the cultural context— "Outside the Epang Palace, there were once nine markets, where goods abounded like stars". It integrates lifestyle amenities such as a swimming pool, coffee shop, flower shop, and sports club. The wood-toned color palette isolates the hustle and bustle of the city; the tranquil water courtyard intertwines with vibrant supporting facilities. This not only revives the lively atmosphere (comparable to the "vitality of markets" around the ancient Epang Palace) but also creates a warm and casual scene for modern residential living.
