This duplex residence was custom-tailored during the planning stage, with layout and circulation optimized to achieve both efficiency and a sense of calm. Natural, non-toxic materials and a subdued wabi-sabi aesthetic define the atmosphere, blending wellness with contemporary elegance.
On the first floor, an open-plan configuration sets the tone. Warm gray artistic coatings and matte stone tiles enrich the surfaces, their subtle textures glowing softly under light to evoke the timeless imagery of desert caves. The foyer flows seamlessly into the living area, where a vaulted ceiling with symmetrical arches draws the eye upward. Indirect lighting along the edges enhances this vertical extension, while rounded niches soften beams and create continuity across the home—reappearing in the TV wall, the kitchen island display, the entry screen, and the master headboard. The living, dining, and kitchen spaces are integrated by a central island with concealed storage and a built-in wine cabinet, inviting family interaction and shared rituals in the public domain.
The second floor is dedicated entirely to the master suite, continuing the gray-hued palette. Above the bed, a sloping ceiling subtly conceals the air-conditioning return, erasing the bulk of beams. A spacious depth of 5.2 meters allows the introduction of a minimalist partition wall for the TV, discreetly defining zones between the sleeping and dressing areas. Glass wardrobes and a corner reading alcove extend functionality, balancing privacy with relaxation. The result is a dwelling where spatial rhythm emerges naturally—serene, cohesive, and deeply attuned to human comfort.
