THE BASEMENT

SmartNews's information app is based on the concept of delivering "quality information," and in the office, sharing this "quality information" through real-life communication is considered vital.
With this in mind, the design theme is named "THE BASEMENT," given its underground location. The goal was to create a hidden-away, salon-like space where employees can experience genuine, in-person sharing of "quality information."
Especially now with an increase in remote work, we've installed a symbolic bar counter to promote in-person interaction and foster the kind of high-quality communication that can only be achieved face-to-face. To support the weekly company events and seminars, the space is highly flexible, using a variety of mobile furniture to accommodate diverse uses.
