Renovation of the Radiology and Garage Building of Jiaozuo People's Hospital: A New Chapter Blending Humanity and Nature
Jiaozuo People's Hospital is situated in an old, high-density community where the buildings lack distinct characteristics and are crowded. This renovation project utilizes new technologies to endow the buildings with a natural and artistic appearance, integrating local culture to reshape cultural identity.
The parking building is located between the hospital's residential area and the treatment area, characterized by limited space, parking difficulties, and a cluster of old buildings. Inspired by natural forests, the design recreates the scenery of local Yuntai Mountain. Perforated panels are used to simulate the interplay of light and shadow in the woods, allowing patients to feel the healing power of nature as soon as they arrive. The main facade features a distinctive LED screen, symbolizing the co-existence of technology and humanistic care.
After the renovation, the parking building seamlessly connects with the rehabilitation garden, putting an end to the previous chaos in the hospital. It fosters a green and ecological rehabilitation environment, with clear separation of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the old hospital district, enabling people to stroll leisurely in the garden.
The radiology building has a long history, with a dilapidated appearance and cluttered equipment. Patients face difficulties passing through on rainy days. The renovation adopts a unified three-part facade design, with perforated panels concealing the clutter while maintaining ventilation and natural lighting. The artistic depiction of forest patterns showcases the natural beauty of Yuntai Mountain, helping patients relax during diagnosis and treatment. The translucency of the perforated panels allows patients to experience the rich changes in light and shadow while walking, fostering a sense of respect for life.
