The McDonald’s China 2025 Mid-Autumn “Black Myth: Wukong” Board Game is a limited-edition tabletop experience that blends the mythic world of Black Myth: Wukong with McDonald’s iconic brand universe. Designed for 2–6 players, the game transforms the legendary journey of the Monkey King into a strategic, fast-paced adventure that celebrates reunion, exploration, and festive play during the Mid-Autumn season.
Set in the iconic Huaguo Mountain from the game’s narrative, the board features 81 spaces symbolizing the legendary “Eighty-One Trials.” Players travel across the board by rolling dice, encountering key locations such as McDonald’s bases, treasure chests, event spaces, and six powerful boss checkpoints. Along the journey, players collect Energy Cards, Spell Cards, and Event Cards to accumulate power, trigger abilities, and overcome challenges. The goal is to defeat the six bosses and become the first player—or team—to reach the final destination.
The game introduces two play modes: Solo Battle and Team Battle, allowing players to compete individually or collaborate with allies. Strategy plays a key role as players must manage card resources, activate character skills, and adapt to unexpected events triggered by special board spaces. When players land on the same space as opponents from rival factions, they may engage in one-on-one battles that further intensify the adventure.
A highlight of the set is the collection of six collectible blind-box figurine pawns (50–64 mm PVC). These include beloved characters from Black Myth: Wukong—such as the Destined One, Zhu Bajie, Fourth Sister and other mythological figures—alongside McDonald’s classic mascots like the Hamburglar, Grimace, and Birdie. Each character comes with a unique hidden ability that can shift the course of the game.
The packaging doubles as a transformable game board gift box, allowing players to unfold the board instantly and begin playing. Designed as a collectible Mid-Autumn gift, the set combines Chinese mythological aesthetics with McDonald’s playful visual style.
