Luminous Solace

In recent years, psychological stress among younger demographics has intensified. The United Nations and the World Health Organization have repeatedly emphasized that mental health support must be centered on dignity, advocating for preventive, non-stigmatizing, and human-centered interventions that extend beyond a sole reliance on clinical systems.
Luminous Solace is an interactive emotional support system designed for individuals with non-suicidal self-injury tendencies, survivors of violence or bullying, and those experiencing depression. Research indicates that when in heightened emotional states, such individuals often resort to hitting, forceful actions, or other intense physical behaviors as a means of release. However, engaging in such actions toward physical objects can result in bodily harm, property damage, and increased psychological distress.
Rather than suppressing emotion, Luminous Solace acknowledges the legitimacy of stress and emotional expression. The project positions design as a gentle and responsible form of intervention, offering psychologically vulnerable individuals a space that is safe, visible, and understood.
