China Overseas Peak · No.3 Courtyard is conceived as a tranquil and refined artistic garden that interprets residential landscape through the language of geometric order. Inspired by Wassily Kandinsky’s exploration of rhythm and harmony within structure, the design transforms the site into a spatial composition of light, color, texture, and proportion. Through minimalist forms, restrained lines, and layered spatial organization, the landscape creates a calm and contemplative living environment that evokes the quiet atmosphere of an art museum.
The site was formerly part of Hebei University of Science and Technology, a place enriched by academic culture and intellectual memory. Rather than erasing this history, the design reinterprets the cultural spirit of the site through a contemporary landscape language. The garden is conceived as a series of artistic spaces that integrate everyday life with nature, culture, and aesthetics, creating new emotional connections between residents and place.
Upon arrival, the entrance landscape introduces a serene spatial sequence defined by water, light, and architectural lines. A reflecting water surface extends from the building facade, while subtle cascading water details and luminous stone lighting elements enhance the sense of quiet elegance. Minimalist geometry and carefully composed materials reinforce the refined spatial order.
Throughout the site, a sequence of landscape walls, water features, and tree canopies creates layered spatial experiences reminiscent of walking through a contemporary gallery. Grey-toned stone surfaces, structured planting, and rhythmic linear compositions form a visual language that balances restraint with richness. The reflection of trees and light on water surfaces introduces a dynamic natural atmosphere that continuously transforms throughout the day.
Within this ordered framework, nature becomes an integral participant in the spatial narrative. Lawns, hedges, trees, and sculptural elements are carefully composed to create a tranquil and immersive garden environment. As residents move through the landscape, the interplay of light, water, and greenery encourages moments of pause, reflection, and quiet connection with nature. The garden ultimately becomes a living artwork where everyday life unfolds within a calm and poetic spatial rhythm.
