Engraving out the Mukden silhouette with care and precision
The general planning of the project continues the urban texture, echoes the urban skyline at the site, and arranges the high/low level partitions of the community according to the home experience in living scenes, naturally connects to the city boundaries, furthermore integrates the theme garden of residential courtyard.
While the garden-style courtyard continues the regional characteristics, then the building facade becomes an important brushwork to refine the context. We combed the overall environmental conditions of the base, based on the new classical academic style, closely combined the Mukdenese Red with the educational culture. We selected the most traditional building material "red brick", and matched with the creamy-white stone to unify the architectural style of the community.
We have repeatedly studied the scale relationship between the materials at the facade design phase, using the classical three-section layout and the modern precision casting technique to integrate the classic elements, presenting the oriental scholars character brick by brick.
Unconventional interface experience
The “gate” is often the starting point to immerse into a space. It may be a tangible door, or a gate-like shape, furthermore to be an entrance of perception. As a transition between the community and the city, the interface of the commercial street adjacent to the main road connects the large area of the urban square with a super long scale, which is open and shared to the city.
Super-scale gray space
From the outer urban space into the community inside, the gray space of the entrance is 14m width, 10.8m height, which creates an image with a sense of ceremony. The abnormal character of the gray space does not affect people's sensory experience. At the human-scale, we use white hemp stone with different grain textures, which are processed by polishing, smooth slotting and tight seam stitching. The strong contrast is able to convey the builder’s craftsmen feelings in a better way.
