Guantang Classical Furniture Art Gallery

Guantang Classical Furniture Art Gallery is a two-story old building located on the north bank of the moat. The space is used for display and development of classical furniture. The design concept of core space is to get rid of the superfluous decoration and restore the original relationship among emerging objects, body and space.

In the design process, it is combined with the transparency and fluidity of modernism by the abstract translation of the Chinese classical garden space and objects. To realize the connection and regeneration between interior and exterior, and different spaces by means of opening a hole, facing the scene, and turning back. So that the original independent hyperspaces are interlinked as an organic whole, which is more convenient for the display and communication of furniture. In terms of the interaction between the body and the space, it geometrically expresses the natural landscape elements such as "cave, spring, forest and stream", and correspondingly contrasts to the behavioral elements such as "walking, looking, living and traveling".So as to shape the experience and practicability of the space, the means of the garden space, which emphasizes the precise direction and proportion control of the visual axis. It also provides visitors with different perspectives and a continuously changing and flowing viewpoint.
