The Forestias – Imagine Happiness

The Forestias project which is a mixed-use development in Thailand focusing on creating a happy community that is a Family and Multigenerational Destination. With the vision “Imagine Happiness, the objectives in the Forestias project are to dwell with the nature and to integrate four intergeneration community so it becomes a role model for sustainable development in Southeast Asia. The project comprised of both commercial and residential zones with a Forest Heart in the centre of the project to serve as the main community areas for both residents and guests who lives and visits the Forestias. The project has been designed to enhance intergeneration and healthy community as well as its connection with nature, to provide smart and innovative infrastructure that will enhance the quality of life for all well-being, and to provide the overall environmental impact awareness and educational discovery to positively influences, residents, staff and guests on shaping a more sustainable and healthier environment. Within these goals, the project has established nine sustainability principles to govern the design and construction process. These principles include nature and animals, community and integration, liveable neighbourhood, health, well-being and happiness, innovative energy system, integrated water management, active mobility and transport, materials and resources as well as education and discovery. The overall development design created three major residential zones that surround the Forest Heart in order to allow residents to enjoy and be in a close encounter with nature. Additionally, the project creates an opportunity to approach such extended family to be able to live within adjacent neighbourhood distance among four generations varied from grandparents, parent, children and grandchildren. This also embraces the cultural value norm from modern Asian society to conventional family of mature generation. The Forestias development will accommodate people of all ages to live in harmony which in turn strengthen family relationships, thus creating a happy intergenerational neighbourhood that strengthen the family and community values through creative and innovative design solutions.
