The plant-based bean sunglasses are produced locally and in an environmentally friendly way in the Tyrolean valley of Lechtal, Austria. The frame is made from a raw natural material that regrows incredibly quickly. What’s more, thanks to 3D printing and the patented Flexlock hinge, the glasses don’t have any screws and are therefore long-lasting and low-maintenance.
The sunglasses out of the Substance Mount collection are characterized by distinctive shapes. Their designs are especially suitable for sunglasses and sports eyewear. Larger shapes offer protection from the sun and the thicker temple with the flexlock hinge provides impeccable support and comfort. The sunglasses lenses are extremely anti-reflective and tinted with a gray gradient, while also being shatterproof to give the necessary protection during sports.
“Sustainability has been an important topic for us for over ten years, and we’ve worked with natural local resources and handcrafting techniques from the very beginning. With the glasses made out of beans, we’ve gone one step further with the concept of sustainability – and successfully so, which we’re incredibly proud of after such a turbulent year,” comments CEO Bernhard Wolf, happily. The family run business, who established the eyewear company in 2009 in their native surroundings, are on the right strategic path, and this is reinforced by their latest recognition. “We want to do our bit for the transformation of the economy, science, and society – we want to create awareness of eco heroes.”
