SUNAC CHONGQING A-ONE COMMERCIAL

A-One is Chongqing’s future landmark, embracing energy, arts and prosperity. Located in the heart of Chongqing’s financial district, the project is surrounded on three sides by parks with a commanding 270-degree view of the river. The design of this ambitious project is an international ensemble consisting of AICO and the world’s leading architecture design firms. Together we will bring 4 skyscrapers and a commercial podium above the metro line 6, to the world.

AICO has been tasked with the design of the podium, which serves as the foundation and unifier of the project. The project is envisioned to be a “City in the Clouds”- with the “clouds” being interpreted as the podium, which brings together the complexities of various functions behind a combination of horizontal metal lines and ultra-clear glass, creating a backdrop of light, shadows, reflections that changes throughout the day. A “city living room” has also been created in between the skyscrapers and the podium, forming a vibrant green yard. The Northern and Eastern sides of the podium used a large overhang structure to form an urban disheartened space, highlighting the entrance to the mansion and the commercial entrance. The concept for the podium facade is based on "the valley of wind in the cloud”, horizontal metal lines and stripes of colored glazed glass were used adding light effect to form a flowing, rich and exquisite effect.

As the landmark of Chongqing’s future, A-One will be the standard for further urban development and while being the new heart of finance.
