This Michelin- star French restaurant hidden in Kaohsiung’s bay area intentionally uses subdued lighting at its

entrance, creating a dramatic visual tension.

The lights hidden on top of the sandstone wall give the space a simple, understated vibe. We lowered the

brightness of the lights to the lowest range, casting a unique, faint shadow in the interior space that is visible at night

even from a distance.

We used the subtractive design approach in the dining area, where the only LED lights are hidden inside the ceiling.

The poetic lighting softly scatters around the layered space, creating a sense of subtle, aesthetic beauty.

In the bar seating area where the chef and his team cook and perform for guests, we hid adjustable LED lights

inside the custom overhead light fixture. At different times of the day, the light control system changes the lighting,

creating a contrast of light and shadow with the natural light that shines into the space.

The overhead light fixture incorporates all of the bar seating area’s lighting needs. The lighting system consists of

soft lighting scattered upwards, side lighting cast on the specially designed ceiling, and downcast lighting hanging

above the bar that utiliz e lights with a CRI of 95 and color temperature of 3000K to create a warm dining

atmosphere.

The lighting is faint, but just enough to outline the elegant, simple aesthetics of the private dining room, allowing for

a relaxing and comfortable dining experience.

The lights hidden behind the seating add a natural and premium feel to the booth.

The soft, scattered lights in the corner cast down from above, accentuating the furnishing within the space so that

they resemble art exhibits. The simple, subtle lighting outlines the features of occupants and immerses them like a

gentle spring breez e.
