Yearning for home

The overall applied mainly applied the concept of pure and unrestrained. Cement paints are used in many ways within the space, allowing the refraction of different lightings to show unalike layers of lights and shadows. At the same time, arc-shaped designing methods, through lines and linear lightings, are used to build up a break-away modern atmosphere. The outer of the counter is applied with the female owner’s beloved alternative tiles; the carefully measured height allowed the tiles to be perfectly collaged. A continuous sense is created through the traffic flow arrangement and arc-shaped expansions; the material selection in the same color tone has also created a harmonious spatial feeling with rich layers. The transparent and breathable space has the advantage of lighting; sunlight can be sufficiently drawn to the indoors, allowing the brightness to create a harmonious contrast with the grey color tones of the interior. When the owner works in this space during the daytime, no lights will be needed; while showing the pure and comfy sense of living, the residence has also decreased electricity. Long-term wise, the design will be achieving energy-saving and sustainable development. Instead of the traditional ways for spatial arrangements, this design is made as an open-end space. The preserved walls, the trap door design, the curves, and the color contrast echo each other; meanwhile, the expansive window has brought in sunlight that outlines the pureness of white, grey, and tones of wood. The designer has given back simplicity to this gallery-like residence, allowing each vista and corner to be appreciated and enjoyed by users.
