Jinmao Residence Sales Office

The project is located in Fengxian District, close to the Jinhuigang River, a tributary of the Huangpu River in Shanghai. The surrounding land will be used as a high-end community. In the early stage, the project was used as a sales office and later as a community center with supporting facilities. With the concept of creating a urban public space, the architect tries to create an open, interactive and vibrant place for the community, where people are able to start a better life that they are longing: well connected spaces, flowing facade and vigorous greenery.

To echo with the urban interface, the model area is built according to the requirement in planning that a 3000-square-meter public activity space is needed. In the designing process, the front area is also built along with the municipal greening. With the limited site conditions, the relationship between building spacing, architectural functions and landscape in the front area is well balanced. By means of adjusting the sizes, multiple spaces are created to enrich the visual effect and enhance the experience of visitors. After passing the multiple courtyard spaces, a grand artistic exhibition hall comes into view.
