“Under One Sky” being the 2021 Noor Riyadh Festival theme, it made sense for us to design a star in the sky - and even more so at the top of the most iconic building. The five-tonne, 6.2m wide art piece sits at 257 meters above ground level, up in the void of Riyadh Kingdom Tower.

It was produced in Belgium, flown to Saudi Arabia in 317 parts, brought up the Kingdom Tower in a lift (and by hand up the remaining two floors), and finally winched up via the kind of rigging you can only see in the shipping industry.
The star itself is made of 520 linear meters of LED strips and 16 moving heads for a total of 1.2 million Lumens. Dynamic light effects occur every 15 minutes to emphasise the ever changing nature of stars in the night sky - effectively acting as a clock for the entire city.
