The USA Pavilion is a 43,000 square feet (4,000 sq m) exhibition created for Expo 2020 Dubai that takes visitors on a 20-minute journey through the past, present, and future of American innovation.

Guided by the theme “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of the Future” and told through seven immersive exhibits, the USA Pavilion celebrates the unique American spirit that harnesses creativity, rewards risk, and creates a brighter future for all. A moving walkway through the first four exhibits regulates the amount of time visitors spend in each area, ensuring visitors have enough time to absorb the core messaging while keeping the flow constantly moving and socially-distanced.

The first exhibits include a massive seamless projected cyclorama with a half-scale recreation of the Statue of Liberty’s hand and torch “painted” in projected media, illuminating the idea that freedom has formed the basis for opportunity and innovation in the United States. Authentic artifacts on display include Thomas Jefferson’s personal copy of the Qu’ran, an early telephone made by Alexander Graham Bell, and the first iPhone.

The centerpiece presentation explores bold ideas for creating the future such as quantum computing, the democratization of space, sustainable energy, and more. Presented on a horizontal proscenium 39 feet (12 m) over the audience, this eight-minute immersive media production highlights the aspirations of Americans that truly feel the sky is no longer the limit. Huge dimensional setpieces, including a 16 foot (5 meter) diameter sphere, spacecraft, astronauts, and other real elements silently glide and integrate into massive media scenes overhead. This exhibit also marks the first ever production to use Black 3.0, the blackest and mattest acrylic paint on the planet.

Inside the VIP area, a high-end design was utilized to entertain VIP guests, such as the president of the United States. Most of the materials and furnishings in the space were either made in America and/or by American manufacturers and all artwork was created by American artists. The contemporary design of the VIP space is meant to reflect a modern-day America, using the colors of the flag: red, white, and blue.
