Yunnan Odyssey
The Journey to the nature

Situated at the Panlong district of Kunming, the famous spring city and capital of Yunnan province, the designs were inspired by the nature sightseeing of Yunnan.

The design broke through traditional two-dimensional interior design mentality, in instead, it set up spatial experiences for the journey. Unique experiences are from carefully and innovatively crafted design. Yunnan Odyseey is trying to offer the extraordinary journey and reflect the past, current and future of Kunming and Yunnan.

Tree House: The atrium at the north was inspired by the tree house in Xishuangbanna jungles, with the lighting effects, the cross bridges and staggered boxes became the dynamic focal point. It also reflected the trends of youth and tech under such abstract landscape influences.

Lake fairytale: At the middle of the project, there is eco theme created with the charm with tech and inspiration of Fuxian lake’s fairy tale, and the desires of the ocean culture by the locals.

Giant tree forest: At the south, the abstract tree forms reflected the unique landscape of Yunnan, the giant tree to the sky. The elegant forms moved the sight light up, towards the sky, lifting up the profound touching connection between the soul and nature.

Pu’er Sea of cloud: The kids’ area is the highlight for children retail zone, the design was inspired by the sea of cloud at Yunnan Pu’er area. Ceiling feature was covered by the abstract cloud shape mesh panel with up wash lights to give the subtle brightness and floating effects.

Terrance open house: Yunnan is famous in rice paddle terrace. This double height space was dominated with book tower in terrace form. The stairs embraced the tower and connected the lower and higher floors with decks and tunnel to give fun and chill areas.

Nine lane street: Blending in the traditional buildings’ portal, roof and pitch form in modern way at this basement F&B space.
