Ziling Kindergarten, Changxing County

To provide children with a more fantastic dream space, the chief designer transformed the interior spatial facade, suspended ceiling and the ground, without changing the architectural structure. The space appears like soft clouds. The clean, dreamy “clouds” softly wrap a study space filled with love and freedom. The designer dedicated “a museum above clouds” to children.



At the entrance hall on 1F, the concept of “museum” starts from the vast universe and leads kids to a mysterious astronomy journey. The “Milky Way” lighting strip surrounds six planet-shaped art lamps.



The designer embellished white and clean classrooms with gentle macaroon colors. The space is decorated with only art lighting installations on the suspended ceiling, avoiding grabbing too much attention from kids. The sleeping area is located beside classrooms. The partition screen in the style of puzzle pieces echoes the theme of encouraging hands-on learning in an interesting way. In addition, it can be used as a whiteboard for writing and drawing, meeting the needs of teachers during the teaching process.



The roof form with a pointed triangle gives rise to the characteristic attic life classroom. With the hope of “catching every moment of children’s lives”, the designer introduced the element of camera. By taking advantage of the height of attic, the designer created a play area for climbing up and down, well satisfying the nature of playful children. Moreover, the camera lens becomes a passage and climbing path for kids.



The large-area blank makes different areas naturally connected as a whole. The harmonious combination of warm and cool tones suits the needs of areas with distinct attributes whilst also exercising kids’ observation ability and enriching their visual experiences.
