Guiyang Chun Shan Ju

Authenticity in design is finding the perfect balance between genre, materials, and details. Located in Guiyang, China, the Guiyang Chunshan Show Flat represents MOT Design Studios take on our own authentic design and how we aspire to live. We created a design aesthetic called the “whimsy life”. Each space features bold patterns and carefully selected art pieces. Whimsy details create a sense of youthfulness and nostalgia that we all sometimes crave in our homes.

We begin our design journey in the lower-level library. A loft space is allocated for a children’s play area and the entire feature wall showcases an over scaled floral wall mural. Outdoor patterns give life to the space and brightens up the room which lacks natural light.

As you ascend to the upper levels, the overall color palette starts to utilize warm pastel tones. Art pieces and sculptural furnishings create talking points throughout each room.

Within the bedroom spaces, we continue our whimsy design using color, patterns, and fun furnishings.

Finally at the top floor we arrive at the garden music room. This space is all about creating a garden dreamscape.

Covered from floor to ceiling is a hand painted yellow wall mural. The golden background matched with the floral patterns creates a sense of the setting sun.
