Jaque

A growing number of organisations are moving to a hybrid working model, therefore we believe the workspace has to be as flexible as the individual. Research indicates people are more creative and productive when they are regularly changing their scenery. Laptop stands in the market tend to be inflexible, not sturdy/stable, heavy to carry if using desk converters for sit-stand. After 1.5 years in the making during Covid, trial, and error with many prototypes, we developed Jaque, which is an innovative laptop stand that is infinitely adjustable between 1.6 to 21 inches. Our unique locking mechanism puts the user in control of where they want the laptop elevated and at what angle. The user can seamlessly switch from sit to stand in seconds. By being infinitely adjustable, the user will always be eye level with the laptop screen, ensuring better posture, which results in an increased focus on their task and well-being. The unique patented locks have gone through a number of iterations, our focus was stability and strength. The main challenge was how can we create a strong sturdy product, that is tall enough to give the user flexibility in height as well as being light. The weight of Jaque is 4.2lbs, allowing the user to carry it wherever they want, no longer restricted to the same spot within the same walls. Strength and sturdiness are strong features of Jaque, materials used are mostly aluminum and carbon fiber, ensuring Jaque is stable and sturdy. Jaque holds up to 30 lbs, which is the equivalent of 6-7 laptops. Jaque is an innovative design as we solved the issue of infinite adjustability via the unique lock mechanism. The design also solves the issue of having a strong/sturdy stand, which allows for a maximum height reach of 21 inches, at the same time being extremely light.
