1 Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your design background.
I am Tony Liu, the CTO(Chief Technology Officer) of Cultural Path. I majored in computer science at Tung Hai university in Taichung, Taiwan. But I am not very interested in programming at the time. So, I used to study in New Zealand for my Postgraduate Diploma in Communication Studies and 3D computer graphic. Then I worked for an animation studio in New Zealand. But I find repetitive work is so boring. So, I came back to Taiwan, study in interactive design at Yuan Ze university for my master degree. Then I worked for design industry for about 13 years.
2 What made you become/why did you choose to become a designer/artist?

3 Tell us more about your business/company, job profile, and what you do.
Cultural Path is a company offers designing service to museums. Our professions include 2D&3D animation, VR&AR, exhibition design, web design, app design, and interactive installation. My job is to incorporate digital technology into exhibitions, especially for the museum.
4 What does “design” mean to you?
Design can be very appealing as it requires critical thinking and innovation.
5 What’s your favorite kind of design and why?
To digitalize masterpiece artwork and transformed them into digital experiences.
6 To you, what makes a “good” design?
Good design has the power to improve people

I always apply the latest digital technology to my design projects.

11 Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2023 MUSE Design Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?
To help visitors better understand the exhibition, we developed the "NMNS XR Phygital Museum Guided System
12 What was the biggest challenge with this project?
The biggest challenge in this project is how to making intriguing interactions with visitors and especially for children.
13 How has winning an Award developed your practice/career?
Winning MUSE Design Awards brings more visibility which can lead to more business opportunities.
14 What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?
Creativity, Problem-Solving and Impact.
15 What makes your country specifically, unique in the design industry?
Taiwan
16 Where do you see the evolution of design industry going over the next 5-10 years?
I believe the Future is Phygital: Physical + Digital. Phygital is a hybrid form of communication based on integration of physical and digital objects to create a better user experience.

Cheer Chen Chi-chen is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter. She inspires me through her powerful music, and her unwavering authenticity.
