The landscape project of Lake Yard is situated in the Wenyan area of Xiaoshan District, adjacent to the National AAAA tourist attraction of Xiang Lake. It is flanked by a river on two sides and overlooks the mountainous scenery to the north, offering both urban convenience and natural tranquility. Guided by the core concept of "concealed luxury," the project is dedicated to integrating Eastern aesthetics with modern lifestyles. Through an in-depth exploration and contemporary interpretation of local cultural heritage, it reshapes a high-quality luxurious living space that is "secluded in nature."
The design draws inspiration from the 8,000-year civilization of Xiang Lake and the spirit of Neo-Confucianism during the Southern Song Dynasty, echoing the pioneering and innovative spirit that has endured along the Qiantang River for millennia. With the "Three Forgettable Realms"— "forgetting age, forgetting to return, and forgetting fatigue"—as its design goals, it constructs a contemporary concealed luxury landscape system. In the dimension of "concealment," it creates a progressive garden experience through visual concealment, spatial layering, and intellectual refinement, forming a profound layout of "garden within courtyard and courtyard within garden," enhancing the sense of ritual and territoriality upon returning home. This “luxury” is manifested through material selection, cultural depth, and spiritual richness, returning to the aesthetic essence of simplicity, appropriateness, and comfort.
The spatial creation condenses four highlights: "The Momentum of Mountains and Rocks" combines modern structural elements with the texture of water-eroded rock patterns to create an undulating and textured landscape; "The Depth of Courtyards" organizes multiple courtyards to form an endless narrative rhythm; "The Sanctuary of Concealed Luxury" creates a Zen-inspired healing space with still water and natural soundscapes, guiding the mind and body back to nature; and "The Connecting Corridors" link architecture and landscape, constructing interactive spaces, deepening the resonance between people and the environment.
The project is not merely a landscape practice for a high-end residential quarter but also a contemporary revival of Eastern aesthetics. It allows residents to find a pure sanctuary amidst the bustle, achieving true physical and spiritual dwelling through the dual nourishment of nature and culture.
