The refreshed TYFF identity and new Taoyuan Film Award trophy signal a confident evolution of the festival’s visual language. Built on diversity, participation and cinematic storytelling, the bold identity and sculptural trophy boost visibility and reinforce TYFF’s ambition in Asian cinema. The task was to create a coherent, recognisable visual identity for TYFF and a flagship trophy for the Taoyuan Film Award that reflect both the festival’s local roots and its international outlook. TYFF needed an identity system that could stand out among Taiwan’s many film festivals, attract filmmakers and audiences, and support a competition unit with substantial prizes. The “goddess” as a symbol of creativity and inspiration was chosen as the core concept—representing filmmakers’ pursuit of artistry. This metaphor aligns with cinema’s muse, motion and light, offering a fluid, elevated expression suited to the festival’s purpose and tone.
