About The Entry
Themed around "Fir WonderLand", this project creates a healing winter forest landscape within Shenzhen Prince Bay Garden. It blends the tranquility of Scandinavian forests, the "Hygge" (a Danish concept meaning a feeling of cozy contentment, a mood of comfort and well-being, or the pleasure of simple things) lifestyle, and the cultural spirit of light and renewal celebrated during the Yule festival. Through the interplay of wooden cabins, snow-dusted paths, and warm lighting, it evokes a poetic atmosphere that invites visitors to linger and immerse themselves, recreating the relaxed and lyrical charm of Nordic winters.
Moving beyond traditional holiday decor, this project delivers an immersive multi-sensory experience through light, material, and texture. Installations merge organically with street flows and shop facades, forming a distinct yet integrated themed block that guides foot traffic and activates commercial vibrancy. The small cabins function both as scenic elements and pop-up retail spaces, while path layouts balance photogenic moments with efficient circulation—seamlessly integrating multiple spaces. Overall, this project reinterprets Nordic festive culture through a contemporary design language, combining both international aesthetics with humanistic warmth.
This project utilizes degradable, recyclable materials, such as reclaimed timber and recycled metals, complemented by modular assembly and low-energy construction methods, ensuring an eco-friendly process from installation to dismantling. Smart energy-saving lighting is employed throughout the display period. After the exhibition, over 80% of materials are recycled or reused, with remaining waste sorted and processed accordingly—achieving a "zero waste" closed loop and conveying a commitment to sustainable living.
This 1,300‑sqm streetscape project not only redefines the emotional warmth and commercial value of the site but also offers urban residents a space for spiritual healing through its nuanced narrative.
