About The Entry
With the re-energizing of Kowloon East based on sense of place, connectivity, and diversity. The 24-storey Quayside sets a benchmark in redefining smart lifestyle environments and urban place making. Designed to integrate smart, sustainable, and green systems, it cultivates a fun, people-centric environment. Vibrancy is paramount to its ethos and is expressed through the design of the public realm, its spatial architecture, and the vertically integrated creative networks that form the framework of its commercial and workspaces.
The project is at a nexus of urban transit and occupies the first lot at the entryway to the district and adjacent to the Jimmy Bridge, a distinct footbridge on Wai Yip Street. It is the newest among multinational office towers in a district transitioning from industrial waterfront into creative/innovation hub and a new premier central business district. The overall design connects with the Kowloon East framework and its green urban infrastructure. Just across the site is the Kwun Tong Promenade by the Victoria Harbour waterfront and further is the Kai Tak redevelopment area.
Vertically integrated green spaces provide opportunities for respite, exercise, and exchange. The fifth level is a public outdoor lounge the allows active exercise and community gatherings while the open green roof is a place for urban agriculture and office events. Creating a sense of place drives the seamless design between the site, landscape, architecture, and interiors.
Smart and Sustainable systems monitor the building performance. In addition, these systems create a social network that allows occupants and visitors to utilize interactive data on diet, exercise, and leisure community activities as they enjoy the community green spaces. The goals of the design bring into focus the design and environmental priorities of social, green and wellness to drive urban innovation. As a result, the project received the BEAM Plus Platinum certification.
