This project is guided by the core concept of “Whispers of Sandstone, Rhythm of Photosynthesis,” creating a breathable oasis high above the city. The design employs natural curves and organic forms as its language: from continuous arching structures to suspended cloudlike ceilings, it evokes the traces of wind and sand in motion, wrapped in an earthtone palette that fosters a serene atmosphere. In terms of materiality, luminous aluminum panels, sandstonetextured coatings, and accents of metal form subtle contrasts, conveying a tactile experience that is both primal and refined. Light is the essence of the design; through multilayered, indirect illumination, light becomes the narrator of the space — curved LED strips trace the contours of the structure, embedded starry points simulate natural skylight, intertwining with daylight streaming through skylights to compose a rhythm of shifting light and shadow over time. Soft, diffused, and gradually changing light creates an immersive, warm field.
Functionally, the layout arranges flexible seating zones and a central island counter to define active and quiet areas, balancing social openness with spaces for solitude. Confronting the challenge of constructing complex curved surfaces, we abandoned traditional GRC/GRG systems in favor of ultralight ceramic (ULC): its extreme lightness reduces structural load, hightemperature sintering ensures dimensional stability, and CNC machining achieves millimeterlevel precision, laying the foundation for accurate formation of doublecurved surfaces.
We established a digital twindriven intelligent construction workflow — Rhino parametric design generates manufacturable models, virtual simulation optimizes the entire process, and data directly drives factory prefabrication of ULC components. On site, components are positioned and assembled using their “digital ID,” enabling precise and efficient realization from digital model to physical space. Ultimately, this is more than a place to enjoy coffee; it is an urban photosynthetic energy field where thoughts expand and inspiration grows naturally. In the whispers of sandstone and the flow of light, body and mind find equilibrium.
