ECDYSIS

This project explores transformation as a state of transition, reinterpreting Eastern cultural imagery within a digital context. Inspired by the dragon, the design envisions a being at the threshold of awakening, shifting from myth into a new form of digital existence.

The garments construct a surface between body and shell through flowing metallic armor. Highly reflective and semi-transparent materials create a hybrid visual language that merges the organic with the synthetic. Traditional Hanfu silhouettes are reconfigured rather than replicated—its expansive forms are translated into fluid, gravity-defying structures, preserving a sense of movement while situating the work in a speculative future.

ECDYSIS is not a reproduction of tradition, but an exploration of identity in transition—where culture, body, and technology intersect, continuously reshaping what it means to exist.
